things that make me happy today
1. My son being above grade level in all subjects (am grateful for all that he is even when the road has been or will be hard)
2. My health & my family's health (I do not want to take it for granted)
3. Having a home that we enjoy
4. My parents being such a big help to me
5. Having my Blackberry (aka Crackberry) to stay in touch with loved ones!
6. That Mallory is potty trained...no changing diapers for me, so sir-ree!
7. That my hubs loves me...he is the best.

Dad Is Hilarious!
Mallory is so funny right now. She is two and half, potty trained (and loving it), picks out her own clothes (I have to help with the matching), talks on her "cell" phone, and helps me cook! Some of the funny phrases she has said lately are..."because I want to!" "Can I have an itty bitty chocolate?" angrily, "Dad didn't give me stuff!" and the ever so charming, addition of the word "poopy" on the end of her sentences. So this morning she came into my room and said "Mom, Dad is hawareeus!" Really? He is, huh? She makes all of us laugh everyday. Our sassy little lady..we better get ready for her as a teenager...ha ha!

Cuteness to the MAX!
Well, we went and did it. We are officially dog owners. We decided on a sweet little 12 week old Cavachon (Bichon Frise/King Cavalier Spaniel). He does not shed and will only be about 10-12 lbs full grown. My wonderful mother went with me to pick him up and we both thought he was precious when we first saw him. WARNING: don't go look at a dog unless you are prepared to leave with one. We decided to name him Max. We've had Max for about a week and so far I would describe having him as having a new baby with fur, however he is a really good baby with fur. He is mostly house trained and 100% crate trained. He has a wonderful disposition with the kids and they really enjoy him. Ian is the most happy with him, as he has been wishing for a puppy for quite some time. Overall, we are really happy with our decision and I think we're pretty lucky to have such a well behaved little guy. I'm still reading a borrowed copy of "Cesar's Way" by Cesar Millan to educate myself and the family on what really makes dogs happy so we'll hopefully have an adult dog who knows his place and "doesn't take over our life." The only thing he has taken over so far is our hearts!
Family Photo Session
My friend Jill (and her husband Ryan) over at One3Photography took some photos of us before Christmas. Let me just say, the kids were all over the place, but they still managed to capture some nice shots! They also never got frustrated with the kids and seemed to have fun. I highly recommend them to anyone in the area.
